According to Hip Hop Official, Jay-Z's "Blueprint 3" was the "biggest album of 2009." Also highlighted are Eminem's "Relapse," 50 Cent's "Before I Self Destruct," Rick Ross' "Deeper Than Rap," Raekwon's "Only Built 4 Cuban Linx, Pt II," Ghostface Killah's "Ghostdini," the self-titled release from Slaughterhouse and Method Man and Redman's "Blackout 2," among others.

Jay-Z and Alicia Keys today opened the World Series Game 2 with a live performance of their hit, "Empire State of Mind." I love how the crowd roars when Jay says "I made the Yankee hat more famous than a Yankee can."

Jay-Z and Alicia Keys to Perform Hit at World Series Opener
What better way to kick off the World Series than to have Jay and Alicia perform their tribute to the Big Apple, "Empire State of Mind," at Yankee Stadium? MTV.com reports that the hip-hop mogul and R&B songstress will do the New York anthem live on Wednesday before the first pitch is thrown at Game One. That's big news for hip hop.

The Making of "The Blueprint 3" Album Cover
I can definitely appreciate the artistry that went into bringing to life the very original album cover for Jay-Z's "The Blueprint 3." I wonder how long it took. Hmmm...
In other Jay-Z news, XXL.com reports that Hova's latest release marks his 11th No.-1 album. "The Blueprint 3" has sold 475,700 in its debut week. It's no wonder that he moved such a high number of units given his 9/11 benefit concert broadcasted on Fuse, incessant radio play and widespread interviews.

Kanye Apologizes for Taylor Swift Mic-Jacking Debacle, Performs with Jay-Z and Rihanna on Leno
How lucky is Jay Leno? I'm pretty sure the opening night for "The Jay Leno Show" got an extra ratings boost, thanks to Kanye West, a day after his infamous a-hole moment at Sunday night's VMAs.
That moment when Leno asked Kanye what his mother would say about his actions was hard to watch. I do feel that Ye is remorseful for what he did. It appears that he is somewhat of a tortured soul, still dealing with the loss of his mom while understanding the power of his celebrity. Either way, Kanye was wrong for snubbing Taylor Swift like that.
