Was it too much "fame" from the Taylor Swift mic-jacking episode that "killed" the tour? Possibly ... Was it the choice words that 50 Cent had about the series of concerts that sent Ye and Gaga packing? Not sure.

How lucky is Jay Leno? I'm pretty sure the opening night for "The Jay Leno Show" got an extra ratings boost, thanks to Kanye West, a day after his infamous a-hole moment at Sunday night's VMAs.

That moment when Leno asked Kanye what his mother would say about his actions was hard to watch. I do feel that Ye is remorseful for what he did. It appears that he is somewhat of a tortured soul, still dealing with the loss of his mom while understanding the power of his celebrity. Either way, Kanye was wrong for snubbing Taylor Swift like that.

Update: Chris Brown Sentenced to 5 Years Probation, Other Violent Incidents Surface

It's no surprise that The L.A. Times is reporting that the "incident" with pop princess Rihanna very well may not be the first.

While Chris, 20, earlier today was sentenced to five years of probation and must perform six months of labor for the February beating of his ex-girlfriend, there are claims that two previous violent incidents transpired but were not reported. The first incident allegedly occurred about three months earlier, in Europe, when the pair were in a verbal altercation. Rihanna slapped him, which then prompted Chris to shove her into a wall.

Three weeks before the February incident, Chris and Rihanna were in Barbados, driving a Range Rover lent to them by a local dealership when they had an argument inside the car. The singer then got out and broke both the front driver and passenger side windows. Thankfully, no one was injured.

Rihanna, whose real name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty, did not appear in court today.

Let's hope that Chris has learned an important lesson through all this. The boy obviously has a temper, and it took one time for it to escalate for it to come to light.

Ciara Booted from Britney Spears Tour

Ciara will be replaced by "American Idol" winner Jordin Sparks on the second leg of "The Circus Starring Britney Spears" tour.

Sparks will be the opening act for the U.S. series of shows, while Kristinia DeBarge will continue to perform on all dates. Up-and-coming acts Girlicious and One Call will appear in select cities. Leg two of "Circus" kicks off Aug. 20 in Hamilton, Ontario and ends on Sept. 27 in Las Vegas.

Jive Records didn't give a reason for the switch. It seems kinda shady, especially because Ciara has more star power, and ummm talent, than that Jordin Sparks.

Drake's Sorry, Sylvia

Drake's reckless talk about Universal Motown head Sylvia Rhone stirred controversy that began with jab at the executive on "Say What's Real" from his "So Far Gone" mixtape. Well, the Toronto rapper manned up and apologized to Rhone, saying his comments — both in the song and in a recent interview — were "emotionally charged" and "very brazen."

The tension came to a head this past week. First, when Drizzy's comments in the upcoming issue of Fader magazine got out, he reportedly said, "I don't f--- with Motown at all." Drake said he signed a deal directly to his management company and secured distribution through Universal Republic, rather than signing with the major label directly.

However, Billboard today suggested that Universal Motown execs have put their foot down and demanded that all work from Drake be stamped with the Motown logo.

What could drive a rapper to quit the game on the eve of his first album dropping? It's the haters that drove Cudi to post an impassioned letter to his fans on his blog a while back announcing his retirement after the release of "Man on the Moon." The Cleveland emcee's first record is due out on Sept. 15 and features guest appearances by Kanye West, The Clipse and Snoop Dogg and is narrated by Common.

Kanye Denies the Alleged "New King of Pop" Comments

Word on the streets is the Louis Vuitton Don was having delusions of grandeur and stated that he's the new "King of Pop."

He was quoted as saying, "Everyone loves and respects Michael, but times change. There's nobody who can match me in sales and in respect, so it only makes sense for me to take over Michael's crown and become the new King. First, there was Elvis. Then, there was Michael. Now, in the 21st century, it's Kanye's time to rule."

Well, apparently Yeezy claims those words never came from his mouth. In true Kanye fashion, he took to his blog to set the record straight in an all-caps message:

Jay-Z Plans to Write a Biography

Jay-Z's spokesperson has confirmed that the rapper is working on an autobiography. The book will reveal the star’s rapping secrets, his days as a drug dealer on the street and -- the topic we've all been waiting to hear more about -- his wedding and marriage to Beyonce. Although the secretive pair made a pact not to speak publicly about their relationship, the Brooklyn rapper will finally open up about his life with "Diva" wife, and provide details about how the two came to be.

Let's hope it's not a cop out that tells us stuff we already know. I want a tell-all about the life and times of Sean Carter.

I forgot how good Xscape was. Shout out to Tiny, T.I.'s baby's mama, and Kandi Burruss, who I can't wait to see on the next season of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta." I wonder what the other two ladies are up to these days.

Kelis in Labor, Nas Gets Twisted

According to TMZ, Kelis still is in labor, some 24 hours of it, and still hasn't given birth to her first child with estranged rapper husband Nas, Knight.

After a performance in New York last night, where in the video above he admits to being lit off champagne, Nas tried to vist Kelis' hospital room at about 1 a.m. this morning. However, TMZ reports that Nas was turned away because he was too wasted.

Rumor has it that Kelis' hospital stay remains unpaid, and all eyes are on Mr. Jones to see if he'll step up and shell out the dough.

Babies Having Babies: Rye Rye is With Child

As Rap-Up.com reports, M.I.A. protege Rye Rye, of "Bang" fame, is pregnant and has since bowed out from DJ A-Trak’s 10,000LB Hamburger Tour.

The 18-year-old B-more native, born Ryeisha Berrain, wrote the following message on her Web site explaining the cancellation:

“To all my fans, I was suppose to be on the A-Trak tour but because of personal reasons i was pulled in the direction of not doing it. Things happen for a reason some happen at the the wrong point of ya life but no one knows why or for what reason only God. So yes I was blessed with a child. At first i was teary eyed and my first thought was to get rid of it. I asked God for guidance and i went to the hospital 4 times and each time i had a breakdown and i knew what direction God was pulling me in. WHAT GOD HAS FOR YOU, NOBODY CAN TAKE!!! AND HE DOESNT GIVE YOU MORE THAN WHAT YOU CAN HANDLE. i feel as tho i had a baby and i had to much integrity to abort her my mom was on the table about to have me aborted and seen my heartbeat and changed her mind. I’m young but I’m also grown and right now its alot on me. BUT THESE THINGS DIDNT STOP ME ONLY MOTIVATED ME TO WORK 10TIMES HARDER!!!!!! And i have alot of resect for the label for understanding and backing me and willing to work around this so we can release an amazing album.”

Rye Rye’s debut album "Go! Pop! Bang!" is now scheduled for a 2010 release.

No Jail Time for Chris Brown

The verdict is in.

Chris Brown plead guilty to one count of felony assault on his former girlfriend, pop singer Rihanna, in Los Angeles County Superior Court today. The entertainer has reportedly attained a plea bargain in his assault case, which means he will serve no jail time, but will be on probation for five years.

No surprise there.

He’s also been ordered to stay 50 yards clear of Rihanna. They are permitted to attend work-related events at the same time, but have to stay 10 feet from each other during those events.

Brown also was ordered to spend 180 days doing community labor (eight hours a day — 1,440 hours total) in Virginia, where he resides. A Virginia law enforcement officer told the media that Brown will be picking up trash, pulling weeds and washing fire trucks.

He must also enroll in a domestic violence counseling program and he’ll get supervised probation. If Brown violates probation, he could get up to four years in prison.

Now, this is the most ridiculous thing I've heard all day. Darius McCrary, better known as Eddie Winslow from "Family Matters," told TMZ.com that he'll be touring with TLC, and Lil' Kim is rumored to be filling Lisa "Left Eye" Lopez's shoes.

Since when did TLC feel the need to scout non-singing has-beens for their tour?

This is the only recollection I have of Darius/Eddie as a singer. Haha. Don't act like you've never seen this.

Eminem Gets Tea Bagged at MTV Movie Awards

Wow! Em's getting a taste of his own medicine. I don't think he was in on the joke, either. Or maybe he's just a good actor. Hmmm.

During tonight's MTV Movie Awards show, live from New York, flamboyant Austrian fashion reporter Brüno (a.k.a. Sacha Baron Cohen of "Borat" fame) lands ass up on Eminem's lap. He and his crew then storm out. Not a good look.

But, prior to that calamity Em did give a great performance.

Christina Milian and The-Dream Engaged

Finding love after the end of their prior serious relationships -- The-Dream divorced "Don't Mess with My Man" singer Nivea and Christina split from Dre from the super producer duo Cool & Dre -- Dream and Christina plan to tie the knot.

According to TheYBF.com, the couple confirmed their engagement after denying it for the past three months. Milian was even seen rocking a ring in Hawaii.
