Jay-Z Breaks Down the Meaning of 'The Blueprint' Trilogy
"I always wanted to do three ["Blueprint" albums] ... Now it seemed like the perfect time, maturing in hip hop. We've never seen this level of career. Someone who's consistently at the top of the genre of music and recorded, and what do you do when you get to that point with everyone saying this is a young man's game. Do you still try to make a record like you're at 15-year-old or do you try to tackle different subject matters and stretch the genre?"
