Mos Def Stars as Chuck Berry

Rapper/actor Mos Def will appear as legendary rock star Chuck Berry alongside Beyonce Knowles, who stars as Etta James in the biopic "Cadillac Records." Also added to the cast are Cedric the Entertainer, Adrien Brody and Gabrielle Union.

Written and directed by Darnell Martin, the film will follow the lives of some of the Chicago label's famous artists, including Muddy Waters, Little Walter and Howlin' Wolf. Slated for release next year, the project began filming in New Jersey earlier this month.

Mos Def was featured in this year's Michel Gondry flick, "Be Kind Rewind,' as well as "Brown Sugar," "The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy," "The Italian Job" and "Monster's Ball," among many others.
