Dwele Says Fans Inspired Him to Hit the Studio

After encouragement from fans, singer Dwele is preparing the release of his third album, a follow-up to his 2005 "Some Kinda…" "When I check MySpace, I see people’s comments – Y’know, it’s been such-and-such years. When’s another album? It’s time,'" he told Billboard.com. "I have to sit back and think, 'Yeah, it has been a minute.'" During that minute, Dwele’s been nominated for the best Urban/Alternative Performance Grammy for his rendition of Earth, Wind & Fire’s "That’s the Way of the World" on the tribute album "Interpretations: Celebrating the Music of Earth, Wind, and Fire"; appeared on Kanye West’s "Graduation" ("Flashing Lights") and recorded for new albums expected from Koch labelmates AZ and Foxy Brown. As for his own album, "I have a couple songs that are more radio-friendly, but I’m actually trying to take my time and elevate. It’s all about going with the music and trying to follow that."
