Never thought I'd ever see a collaboration between R&B great Anita Baker and Long Beach's finest, Snoop Dogg. But it's in the works.
As Billboard.com reports, Anita Baker is considering a live video and/or album for her next release, possibly in 2010. The Grammy Award-winning songstress filmed shows during the past year at the DTE Energy Music Theatre near her hometown of Detroit, in the Cayman Islands and at the Mystic Lake Casino Hotel in Prior Lake, Minn.
As for now, Baker is working with rapper Snoop Dogg on an adaptation of Curtis Mayfield's "Give Me Your Love (Love Song)" from the "Superfly" soundtrack. Apparently, she is going to blend the "contemporary" sound with the style we're used to seeing her perform.
We're in for a treat.
