Jay-Z's "American Gangster" No. 1
Jigga´s 10th studio album "American Gangster" is projected to sell between 425,000 - 450,000 in first week sales.
According to Hitsdailydouble.com, "American Gangster" is about to become No. 1 on the Billboard 200 this week. If so, Jay-Z is officially tying with Elvis Presley for second place among artists with the most No. 1 albums.
The concept album "American Gangster" was inspired by Ridley Scott´s movie of the same name which was No. 1 at the box office in its first week in cinemas.
The film stars Denzel Washington and Russel Crowe. Washington portrays Frank Lucas, a real-life heroin kingpin from Harlem who smuggled the drug into the country in American service planes returning from the Vietnam War. Crowe portrays Richie Roberts, a detective who brings down Lucas' drug empire.
