Da Brat's Bottle-Bashing

Shawntae Harris, a.k.a. Da Brat, spent the night locked down after allegedly whacking a waitress over the head with a rum bottle at Jermaine Dupri's nightclub, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution. Atlanta police arrested the 33-year-old rapper at around 1:20 a.m. on Nov. 1 following the altercation, which witnesses say escalated from a verbal argument, to pushing, to Da Brat's alleged over-the-head rum-bottle crack.

Mekka Parish, DeKalb County police spokeswoman, said the rum bottle resulted in a "deep laceration" across the head of the allegedly assaulted - a 23-year-old who worked in the club. "According to witnesses, after the pushing, the waitress walked away," said Parish, "and a short time later, that's when Harris picked up a bottle and hit the waitress in the face with it."

Da Brat will stay in jail until her initial court appearance, set to occur within a few days. This is her second assault charge; the first came in March of 2000, when she allegedly pistol-whipped a woman at a club.

That's horrible. I wonder what Da Brat and that waitress were beefing over. Maybe it was a lover's quarrel? Haha.
