The Associated Press reported today that the surgeon who operated on Kanye West's mother before she passed away in November 2007 surrendered his medical license following two DUI-related convictions.
Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Jan Adams, 54, can no longer practice in California. He currently is locked up in a Northern California jail since pleading no contest to misdemeanor drunken driving. Adams had a blood alcohol level of .20 percent when he was pulled over for traveling on the wrong side of the freeway in June 2008.
Dr. Donda West, 58, died of heart failure associated with complications from a breast reduction and tummy tuck procedure performed by Adams. West formerly served as the chairwoman of Chicago State University's English department and published a book dedicated to her son titled "Raising Kanye: Life Lessons From the Mother of a Hip-Hop Star."
