Yung Joc Faces Felony Charges

In the latest case on the hip-hop police blotter, rapper Jasiel “Yung Joc” Robinson missed his arraignment today on a felony charge he received Monday (Dec. 24) for allegedly trying to board an airplane with a concealed weapon at the Cleveland Hopkins International Airport in Ohio.

His lawyer, Stanley Jackson Jr., said the rap star was out of town attending to family obligations. That didn't sway Cuyahoga County prosecutor Gayle Williams, who said Robinson will be considered a fugitive and she will issue an arrest warrant for him.

According to The Associated Press, Robinson was arrested around 6:20 Sunday morning after police found a semi-automatic handgun and ammunition in his carry-on bag at a security checkpoint. Robinson told police he had no prior knowledge of the weapon.

"Yung Joc maintains his innocence. He would appreciate privacy as he addresses these allegations," Jackson Jr. told the AP. He was released Monday on $50,000 bond, but the bail has now been doubled to $100,000.
