Last week, Swagger Ready posted Remy Ma's latest video for "Shesus Khryst," which depicts the troubled rapper nailed to the cross. It has since sparked so much outrage that her mixtape partner, Superstar Jay, released a statement in her defense.
“The image of her nailed to the cross is no way meant to be blasphemous. Remy feels like she has been persecuted by her critics, underestimated by other artists and treated disloyally by Terror Squad frontman Fat Joe. Just as Jesus was beaten and betrayed, Remy feels like she has taken a lot of blows,” he said in a statement given to UWN.
Sounds like some B.S. to me, and we all saw this coming. Rappers, what have we learned from Nas and Diddy? Nothing good can come of a video in which an artist is dressed like or crucified like Jesus. I don't care how creative your vision is -- Don't do it! My question to Remy: What were you thinking? The best thing to do when dealing with legal issues is to lay low. Please fall back ... NOW!
