Rapper MIMS, which stands for Music Is My Savior, is denying reports that he accused Kanye West of biting his sound, flow, swagger, whatever you wanna call it.
The rapper, best known for his hit single "This Is Why I'm Hot," ("Like This" is kinda mediocre) reportedly told UK website Contact Music that he was the first to originate the sped-up samples that Kanyayo popularized. "I recorded my album five years ago, so I did it first," he allegedly said.
However, a rep for MIMS released a statement denying that claim. "The story is false. The quotes are made up. There is no rivalry with Kanye," the statement said.
The article that initially appeared on Contact Music's website on Aug. 26 was eventually pulled.
What do y'all think really went down? I personally think it was a publicity stunt. Let's be honest. MIMS is no Kanye West, and I'm pretty sure he knows it. Team Kanye all the way! 09.11.07
